摘要
The purpose of this research is to investigate how to improve accessibility in mobile interfaces for the elderly, considering the disabilities commonly acquired with age, such as reduced mobility and visual impairments. In this study, touch gestures, such as double tap and tap and hold, were analyzed to determine which gestures are recommended for applications aimed at elderly, and how written descriptions can improve their performances. Trials with a group of elders showed that this group performed better in interactions that used written descriptions instead of icons, and required longer touch gestures. The results suggest that implementing these factors in interfaces can make them more accessible to older users.
