Preliminary researches on influence of several kinds of plants including Semiliquidambar cathayensis Chang on activity of cholinesterase from pig serum

Leaf extract of Melaleuca paryiflora Lindl. could inhibit the activity of cholinesterase very slightly. Leaf extract of Schefflera octophylla (Lour.) Harms. could inhibit the activity of cholinesterase slightly. Leaf extract of Semiliquidambar cathayensis Chang could inhibit the activity of cholinesterase evidently. Leaf extract of Nandina domestica thunb, Hydrangea, Osmanthus matsumuranus Hayata or Ipomoea cairica could activate the activity of cholinesterase slightly. Fruit extract of Iivistona chinensis could also activate the activity of cholinesterase slightly.
