Preparation of CoS 2 supported flower-like NiFe layered double hydroxides nanospheres for high-performance supercapacitors.

•The sample were designed and prepared through the facile hydrothermal process.•The NiFe-LDH@CoS2@Ni electrode exhibits a high capacity of 11.28 F cm-2 (3880 F g-1) at a current density of 2 mA cm-2 (1.17 A g-1).•When the NiFe-LDH@CoS2@Ni fabricated as an ASC device, it can light up a blue LED for 30 min.
