摘要

•Acitretin has a significant cytotoxic effect on SCL-1 cell line, in acitretin concentration-dependent and incubation time-dependent manner.•ALA-PDT can enhance the cytotoxic effect of acitretin on squamous cell carcinoma cells.•This is the first report of the synergistic effect of acitretin and ALA-PDT in the treatment of SCL-1 cell line.
