•Cyclolipopeptide (CL) easily oxidizes and loses antifungal action after extraction.•Solid lipid nanoparticle (SLN) effectively protects CL from oxidation.•SLN embedding enhances antifungal activity of CL.•Hydrophobic interactions of CL and SLN enhance the crystallinity of CL-loaded SLN.•CL-loaded SLN has strong affinity to and high permeability across fungal membrane.
