Risperidone (I) in some aqueous mixtures of low alcohols: Solubility, preferential solvation and solvent effect analysis

•Risperidone (I) solubility in four aqueous alcohol mixtures was determined.•Solubility data were correlated by van’t Hoff-Jouyban-Acree and Jouyban-Acree models.•Preferential solvation of risperidone (I) in alcohol solutions were derived via IKBIs method.•Solvent effect was studied by using KAT-LSER model.•Cavity formation energy and dipolarity-polarizability of solvents mainly controlled risperidone solubility.
