Geolocation of mobile network users is one of the important topics that have a lot of applications including detection of network problems, network planning and optimization, LBS, and geolocation of users calling emergency services. In this paper, a proposed algorithm for moving users tracking in LTE networks is studied. Based on a real data obtained from a testing device, the proposed algorithm uses data fusion techniques such as linear interpolation and Kalman filter and apply them on the timing advance measurements. In addition, measurements of neighbor cells and knowledge of network topology is also used to estimate the user location with an acceptable accuracy for many geolocation applications.
