A Novel Biometric Based Remote User Authentication Scheme Using Smart Card with Session Key Agreement

Remote user authentication process using smart card provides a simplest and efficient technique for communicating in a secure manner over an insecure network. A novel remote user authentication scheme using smart card is proposed in this current paper. This one is a single server authentication mechanism where user bio-metric is used. Here user and server mutually authenticate each other by message passing. A session key is generated at user side after mutual authentication. Security analysis performed over the scheme shows its resistance against most of the attacks.
