Nosocomial Infection Among Patients With Covid-19: A Retrospective Data Analysis Of 918 Cases From A Single Center In Wuhan, China

The emergence coronavirus disease-2019 (COVID-19) in China at the end of 2019 has caused a large global outbreak and is a major public health issue (Chen N et al., 2020). Percentage of Nosocomial infection (NI) among COVID-19 patients who died was significantly higher than that of patients who were cured and discharged (p= 0.002) (Ruan Q et al., 2020). We investigate NI occurred among COVID-19 patients and analyze risk factors, so as to provide basic data for NI prevention and control. The clinical data of 918 COVID-19 patients in Tongji hospital from Dec 30, 2019 to Feb 29, 2020 were retrospectively analyzed. A 1∶4 paired case-control study was performed, and 65 patients with NI were assigned as case group and 260 non-NI patients as control group. Clinical data of the patientsu0027 demographics, basic disease, and treatments were analyzed, and influencing factors of NI among COVID-19 patients were summarized.
