The Wireless Sensor Network (WSN) for Meteorological Monitoring in Transmission Lines

For transmission lines travel long distance and suffer the long-term exposure to the outdoors, there may be nodes break down because of the exhaustion of electric energy, disasters damage and so on. When the nodes collapsed, the message transmission may be interrupted in meteorological monitoring network. To settle this problem, according to the topology of transmission line network, a fault-tolerance router mechanism is proposed to improve the robustness of the wireless sensor network. Based on the topology structure of transmission line, wireless sensor network with chain topology and mesh topology combined for the meteorological monitoring in transmission lines is considered. According to the combined topology, the corresponding route method is proposed to realize the fault tolerance. The situations of different places where the faults happen are discussed. No matter that the fault happens in the chain or mesh, the route can be reestablished through the proposed mechanism. At last, the comparison are carried out through the simulation to testify the mechanism.
