Hierarchical TiO2 microsphere assembled from nanosheets with high photocatalytic activity and stability

•Ti-based hierarchical microsphere assembled from nanosheets was prepared.•TM-S exhibited excellent catalytic activities of H2 production.•TM-S achieved photo-assisted benzyl alcohol selective oxidized to benzaldehyde.•Surface F and nanosheets structure were suggested to explain enhanced performance.
