Low dose prenatal testosterone exposure decreases the corticosterone response to stress in adult male, but not female, mice.

•Late pregnant mice were treated with with low doses of testosterone propionate.•Treatment selectively diminished corticosterone responsivity in adult male offspring.•Treatment did not affect female ovarian cyclicity or male plasma testosterone levels.•Prenatal androgen exposure may produce sex-specific impairment of stress responsivity.
