Design of A Metamaterial Absorber With Ultra-Wide Angle Incidence

摘要
In this paper, an ultra-wide angular metamaterial absorber is proposed through the design of a resistor-loaded planar dipole with artificial magnetic conductor ground. With application of antenna reciprocity, a wide-beam antenna element is designed based on image theory for its ability to receive electromagnetic waves in a wide range of angle and configured as a wide angular absorber. Simulated results show that the metamaterial absorber has achieved 90% absorptivity in the range from −70° to +70°. Besides, the designed absorber can achieve 85% absorptivity under ±80° incident angles. In addition, the thickness of the absorber is only 0.093λ 0 .
