Reactive Power Optimization of Power Grid with Photovoltaic Generation Based on Improved Particle Swarm Optimization

Considering economic operation of the distribution network with appropriate investment of reactive power equipment and less power loss of the system, reactive power optimization of distribution network penetrated with photovoltaic power generation is investigated. Taking the total active power loss of the system as the objective function, considering the constraints of active power, reactive power and voltage, a mathematical model for reactive power optimization of distribution network penetrated with photovoltaic power generation is built. Because the inertia weight factor of traditional PSO is a constant value, the contradiction between local search ability and global search ability will be generated. The paper uses an improved PSO to reduce the inertia weight factor at a linear velocity during the iterative process. The IEEE 33 node system is taken as an example for simulation analysis. The simulation results show that the proposed algorithm has better convergence and stability which can achieve better optimization results.
