•101 OCD patients completed ERP and were assessed after four and 13 months.•Intra and interpersonal predictors of ERP completion and outcome were examined.•Fearful attachment predicted dropout and moderated the outcome of ERP at follow-up.•Attachment style should be further examined in the context of the outcome of OCD.
