Systematic tests for study of tire tractive performance on soft soil: Part I – Experimental data collection

•Tire, soil, and tire-soil tests were completed to a passenger car tire and loamy sand.•Test data on tire off-road traction at a wide range of slip ratio has been collected.•Combined effect of inflation pressure and slip on traction and rut depth was analyzed.•Effect of soil compaction on effective rolling radius and rut depth has been analyzed.•Parameterization data for soil model and terramechanics model was collected.
