•A Galerkin methodology is proposed to predict the compressive strength of LWAC.•Due to memory requirements and computational cost, parallel programing is needed.•The methodology has been compared with MLR, regression trees and ANN.•The proposed methodology outperforms these well-known data mining techniques.
