Influence of a 1.5 T magnetic field on the tensile properties of Eurofer-97 steel

•Novel tensile tests with applied external magnetic field were performed.•The magnetic field has minimum effect on the tensile properties of Eurofer-97.•No change in the fracture surface is observed.•The importance of performing creep tests with magnetic fields is discussed.
