Comparing the influence of Roll-Over Protective Structure type on tractor lateral stability

•Eleven pairs of narrow track tractors were tested to analyse the effect of ROPS type on the stability.•In reason of the tractor features a randomized block design analysis was performed.•Linear relationships with the centre of gravity height and the inertia of the tractor were assessed.•Cab ROPS negatively influenced the lateral stability angle compared to a two post ROPS.
