Isothermal fast pyrolysis kinetics of synthetic polymers using analytical Pyroprobe

•Fast pyrolysis mass loss data of polymers in 350–800 °C and 2–150 s obtained using Pyroprobe.•PMMA pyrolysis kinetics was described by contracting cylinder model.•PS and UHMWPE pyrolysis kinetics was described by Avrami-Erofeev sigmoidal model.•Time evolution of functional groups of vapors obtained using Pyrolysis-FTIR technique.•Kinetic compensation effect was established for all three polymers.
