Phytochemical and biological activities of Silene viridiflora extractives. Development and validation of a HPTLC method for quantification of 20-hydroxyecdysone

•HPTLC method developed and validated for quantification of 20-hydroxyecdysone.•Essential oil composition of Silene viridiflora cultivated in Uzbekistan was established.•The MeOH extract of S. viridiflora showed tyrosinase and amylase inhibitory activity.•The MeOH extract of S. viridiflora has good potential as a metal chelator.
