Relationships among aggressiveness, fearfulness and response to humans in finisher pigs

•Pigs’ skin lesions 24 h and 3 wk post-mix were related to behavior test responses.•Pigs with more rear lesions 24 h post-mix interacted more intensely with humans.•Pigs with more front lesions 3 wk post-mix were less active in a weigh crate.•Pigs with more front lesions 24 h post-mix took longer to approach a novel object.•Pigs with more front or middle lesions 3 wk post-mix took longer to touch an object.
