Al-Quran Teaching and Learning by Al-Qabisi Model: A Study Towards Excellent Students Ulul Albab Tahfiz Model and Tahfiz Stifin

Al-Qabisi teaching and learning model emphasises on akhlaq and al-Quran education towards children. The main core in children's education is supported by parents who are practising the real Islamic way of life. Children need to be taught about solah as early as seven years old. The reason for this is because solah consists of al-Quran recitation and the noble values of akhlaq. The love towards al-Quran needs to be nurtured in the pure soul of the children so as to become the guidance in forming the noble personality. Referring to al-Qabisi learning model, the researcher conducted study towards the background of al-Quran education among excellent students in Ulul Albab Tahfiz model and Tahfiz STIFIn who manage to memorise the al-Quran in the duration of lesser than two years. These students are having potential to be seen as idol for the current generation due to the nurture and education by the parents and teacher whom are sincere in educating the children with al-Quran. This study adopts qualitative methodology and analyses school official documents as well as interview conducted towards parents and teacher. From this study, the researcher found that parents are main pillars in growing the children's love towards al-Quran. Before the children were officially sent to memorise al-Quran, they were exposed to al-Quran recitation and memorisation consistently at home. Knowledge sharing on al-Quran education by parents and tahfiz teachers are hoped to be a model to parents who dreamed for excellent children whom are al-Quran memorisers.
