Interval prediction of solar power using an Improved Bootstrap method

•An Improved Bootstrap method for the construction of solar power prediction intervals is proposed.•An Envelope-based cluster technique is designed to pure the solar dataset.•The width of the prediction interval constructed using the proposed method is significantly lower, while the coverage probability can be still guaranteed.
