摘要
Pulse oximetry is a technique used for measurement of oxygen level (oxygen saturation) of the blood. It is a simple and effortless method for measurement of how well oxygen is being transported to different organs of your body from your heart. Recent trends in the miniature and wearable device concept has fostered a substantial change in the field of biomedical engineering & its product development. In this paper, a compact biomedical application/device using a very small size Microcontroller ATmega328 based low cost Arduino Mini kit along with Texas Instruments OPT101 photodiode for heart rate monitoring and oxygen saturation determination using PCB designed & developed on SMD scale in a laboratory. This PCB is implemented using the Eagle Software. With achievement of miniaturization in device size, fairly suitable results for heart rate & oxygen concentration were obtained graphically and numerically for few number of people on sample basis. This paper showcases the significance of wearable devices being used in the medical field which will help us in our wellbeing. Laboratory or experimental based approach has been implemented towards design and development of wearable biomedical devices. It has been verified with the data of few patients in clinics to establish the fairly accurate values of heart rate and saturated oxygen levels.
