Attachment of Turner's thick-toed geckos (Chondrodactylus turneri GRAY 1864) during weightlessness and their responses to flotation

•The behavior of reptiles in long-term space flight was studied for the first time.•The geckos were attached to surfaces for 99.9% of video recorded flight time.•Quiescent geckos floated 4.5 times more often, than in active state.•The different behavioral reactions in response to flotation were observed.
