Stage-dependent effects of chlorpyrifos on medaka (Oryzias latipes) swimming behavior using a miniaturized swim flume.

•48-hour waterborne exposures to CPF were studied in three growing periods of medaka.•Swimming behavior was tested with a miniaturized swim flume after CPF exposures.•CPF in solutions did not remain stable despite 24-hour renewals.•Two-dimensional heat maps suggested different swimming patterns at ≥12.5 μg CPF/L.•The analysis of residence times supported the differences seen in the gradient maps.
