Enabling data interoperability for federated IoT experimentation infrastructures

The importance of addressing interoperability challenges in Internet of Things (IoT) ecosystems is widely acknowledged. Inspired by the “experimentally-driven research” paradigm, this paper proposes a lightweight data interoperability mechanism the performance and efficiency of which are evaluated via experiments carried out on top of FIRE testbeds. The executed experiments involve publicly available heterogeneous IoT testbed infrastructures in an attempt to bridge the semantic gap of the data generated across these platforms.
