摘要
This paper introduces a simplex BCC transmission system with scaled Impulse-Radio Ultra-Wide Band self-synchronized signaling for cognitive science applications involving visually impaired people. The transmitter is physically connected to ground and the receiver system is 100kHz-order scaled radio frequency energy detector that takes advantage of high impedance coupling to enable low power data transmission. This manuscript introduces the application domain and a first proof-of-concept transceiver prototype to demonstrate feasibility based on commercial components. Running a microcode implementing a simplex byte-packet transmission for a ∼500 bps data rate, the paper reports very preliminary results showing that the wearable receiver node (whose front-end consumes a simulated 4.68 mW) successfully synchronizes and receives data packet from the transmitter source which continuously transmits packets every half second.
