An Overview of Cyber Security for Smart Grid.

Smart grid is known to combine computing, communication and sensing techniques into the current power grid networks so as to achieve these substantial benefits from the informatization. It will empower neighborhood information exchange, decentralized control, two-way power transmission and efficient demand response. However this emerging system also introduces new security concern, i.e. cyber security issue, because of the high importance of the cyber infrastructure. Generally, this paper presents a review on cyber security against smart grid. Firstly, it begins with reviewing the traditional power system security framework and then emerging cyber security issue in smart grid will be introduced. Secondly, some typical cyber-attack models will be presented and countermeasures against cyber-attacks will also be discussed.
