Using direction and score information for retina based person verification.

•Retinal vessels are detected by an unsupervised method based on direction information.•Pixels are assigned a score with respect to direction information.•Retinal vessel structures are co-registered via point sets alignment algorithm.•Feature extraction exploits directional information also used for vessel segmentation.•The method is able to perform a partial matching.
