摘要

•This paper analyzes 62 SPL traceability studies dating from 2001 to 2015.•We discuss goals, strategies, domains, research intensity and challenges of the area.•This work identifies gaps in research which should be addressed.•It identifies common practices and areas for further improvements as well.
