Mobile acceptance among pre-service teachers: a descriptive study using a TAM-based model.

The study of technology acceptance constitutes an interesting research field for understanding the processes of educational innovation related to the application of ICT. In this communication we present the results from a descriptive study on the acceptance of mobile technologies among the pre-service teachers undergoing training in the University of Salamanca. The population for this study is composed by students from the Primary Education Bachelor's Degree in said university, who have been handed a questionnaire based on the TAM (Technology Acceptance Model), expanded with the constructs of self-efficacy and mobile device anxiety. The sample was composed of 678 subjects. The results show the students' favourable disposition towards the use of these devices in their teaching practice. We didn't find significant differences according to the year the students were in, but some differences were observed based on the student's gender.
