Tendencias en los sistemas de indización automática. Estudio evolutivo

In this article, we present the evolution of automatic indexing and computer-assisted indexing, from the original works, about 1960 up to the present. The systems described have been divided in four sections: systems that use non linguistic methods, systems that use linguistic means, commercialized systems and last trends based upon multimedia. A wide bibliographic review of forty years of automatic indexing systems has been done. Finally, the conclusions are shown.
