Fan-out device for multicore fiber coupling application based on capillary bridge self-assembly fabrication method

•We utilize a method based on capillary-bridge force self-assemble technique to fabricate the fiber arrays for the fan-out devices of the multicore fiber.•We unifies the analysis method of the relations between coupling errors (transverse misalignment, longitudinal misalignment, angle misalignment) and coupling efficiency, and verify it through simulations using a BeamProp software.•We propose an efficient coupling process for multicore fiber and other optical waveguides.
