Investigation of maximum probabilistic capacity of wind farms based on voltage stability

In this paper, a method based on voltage stability is proposed to determine the maximum sizes of multiple new wind farms on a certain probability. Based on the Weibull probability density function, the formulation of the relation between the maximum sizes of wind farms and the allowable output of wind farms on a certain probability has been given. Afterwards, the iteration strategy was given, when making the voltage stability margin as the index of system stability. Finally, the method proposed in this paper was applied to a practical example in PSS/E. The result shows that the method proposed in this paper can be adopted to calculate the maximum sizes of multiple wind farms simultaneously and accurately.
