摘要
In mobile ad hoc networks, multipath routing improves end-to-end throughput by transmitting data via multiple paths, which is suitable for high traffic load. However, the inter-path interference limits the increase of end-to-end throughput. To address this issue, we propose the Greedy-based Interference Avoidance Multipath Routing (GIMR) protocol. With the aid of location information, two least-interference paths between a source and destination pair is established and the control overhead in the route discovery process is low. We present the detail components of GIMR, including the route discovery, data transmission, and route maintenance and discuss various issues related to GIMR. Via extensive simulations, we demonstrate that GIMR achieves much better performance than the existing approach in terms of packet delivery ratio, end-to-end delay, and normal control overhead. © 2011 Binary Information Press.
