Design And Realization Of The Resource Management For A Set-Top-Box

Software implementation is crucial for a STB (set-top-box) since it provides all capabilities and flexibility of realizing multimedia services. Resource management, which is often omitted in many STBs software implementation, provides the application an easy and efficient way to use the resources available. In this paper a resource Management model is proposed where it offers fill consideration of expandability and compatibility with open system standard and technologies and helps the whole software system being highly independent of specific hardware and OS platform. The resource management model has been used in different hardware platforms and is performed well(1).
