Plastic microcrack of garnet in metamorphic rock of eclogite facies

Microcracks well-developed in garnet from rock were previously considered as products of brittle deformation. However, the present study by transmission electron microscope (TEM) recently indicates that microcracks of garnet are product of ductile deformation. Meanwhile, we have deeply discussed the formation mechanism of the plastic microcrack.
