摘要
In this work, we present a novel numerical technique, using a specially constructed adaptive basis functions set, to generate a diagonal matrix while applying the well-known method of moments (MoM) to electromagnetic field problems. Obviously, the crucial step in the numerical procedure is the construction of the basis set for a given problem. Since the present technique generates a diagonal matrix, this amounts to a considerable savings in terms of computer storage/CPU requirements. Finally, we present some representative numerical examples involving two-dimensional cylinders of arbitrary cross section subjected to transverse magnetic (TM) incidence to demonstrate the validity of this new method.
