In this work, we present the application of specially constructed adaptive basis functions to generate a diagonal matrix in the method-of-moments solution procedure for the calculation of a scattered electromagnetic field from arbitrarily shaped two-dimensional cylinders excited by a transverse electric incident electromagnetic wave.
