Study on the potentiality of rural residential land consolidation in the underdeveloped areas——A case study of Gansu Province

In this paper, the regional characteristics of rural residential land was analyzed, and the potential zoning index system was constructed from five aspects, land use status, natural factors, social factors, economical factors and ecological factors. The methods of system clustering and indexes synthesis with SPASS were employed. According to the calculation results, three sub-zones of rural residential land consolidation was divided. The direction of land consolidation was proposed according to the local conditions. Combined with the natural, social and economic conditions, the theoretical potential and the actual potential of the rural residential land belong to 14 cities (prefectures) in different regions were calculated. According to the difficult degree of changing theoretical potential into actual potential, the rural residential land consolidation in Gansu Province was divided into three levels, the advantage potential district, the internal potential district and the restricted potential district.
