Mohamed R. Daha, Ph.D, has extensive research experience in immunology of renal disease, autoimmunity and basic research in the areas of humoral and cellular immunology in relation to inflammation and chronic transplant rejection. His group has contributed to major developments in the field of complement and autoimmune renal diseases. Next to clinical/nephrological research his focus is also in renal disease in experimental models of animal disease. These studies serve to analyse the mechanisms underlying the development and course of glomerular and interstitial inflammation in the kidney. The active contribution of renal epithelial in the immune and inflammatory response has been demonstrated.
