个人简介
My research is primarily focused around the LHCb experiment taking data on the LHC at CERN. This is an experiment designed to study the decays of the b quark, with the aim of discovering contributions to these decays from physics beyond the Standard Model. The experiment involves 850 scientists from 80 institutions around the world.
I am particularly interested in rare decays of the b quark. Those where they decay to either an s quark or a d quark and two leptons. Due to the suppression of these decays in the Standard Model relatively large contributions from new particles could be observed, making them very sensitive to potential new physics. I am also very interested in exploiting LHCb's ability to directly search for more exotic particles.
I am heavily involved in the operation, design, and production of the experiment's ring-imaging Cherenkov detectors, a system designed to differentiate between different charged hadrons, particularly kaons and pions.
