Dr Halliday currently holds a Medical Research Council (MRC) Senior Fellowship in Hearing Research at the MRC Cognition and Brain Sciences Unit. Dr Halliday's research focuses on auditory perception in children. She studies how auditory processes develop over childhood, how they relate to speech and language development, and how they are affected by hearing difficulties and in those with neurodevelopmental disorders. Dr Halliday employs psychometric, psychophysical, and electrophysiological techniques, and has experience with longitudinal studies. Her research involves typically developing children, children with hearing difficulties (e.g. sensorineural hearing loss, auditory neuropathy spectrum disorder, glue ear), and children with language difficulties (e.g. dyslexia, developmental language disorder). Dr Halliday?s research has been funded by the MRC, the Economic and Social Research Council, the Waterloo Foundation, the European Commission, and the Leverhulme Trust.
