I am a DSc researcher and an Assistant Professor at Wroclaw University of Technology.
I have published a number of research articles (listed via http://madeyski.e-informatyka.pl/publications/ and http://madeyski.e-informatyka.pl/publications/publications-and-citations/). The latest monograph is entitled "Test-Driven Development: An Empirical Evaluation of Agile Practice," published by Springer, 2010 (see http://www.springer.com/978-3-642-04287-4 or http://www.amazon.com/Test-Driven-Development-Empirical-Evaluation-Practice/dp/3642042872).
I enjoy industry-relevant research, focused on finding novel solutions to real problems within software engineering and an empirical evaluation of the proposed approaches via statistical methods. My research areas include both experimentation and predictive modeling (machine learning, data mining) in software engineering:
1) Empirical Software Engineering and Evidence-based Software Engineering: novel practices (e.g. Test-Driven Development, Continuous-Test-Driven Development) of software development methodologies (incl. agile methodologies), as well as tools (e.g. Judy mutation testing tool for Java) and their empirical evaluation by means of experiments, case studies, surveys and then statistical analyses and meta-analyses using R, SPSS, Statistica.
2) Data mining and machine learning in software engineering (e.g. software defect, size or effort prediction models).
3) Software metrics, models and quality i.e. production code as well as test code quality (e.g. by means of first order and second order mutation testing technique and Judy mutation testing tool - see http://java.mu/).
4) Software process and products improvement.
