Lachlan Andrew joined Monash in January 2014 from Swinburne University of Technology where he was an associate professor and an ARC Future Fellow. His research interests include algorithmic aspects of the smart grid, such as demand-response, storage management and non-intrusive load measurement; energy-efficient networking; and performance analysis of resource allocation algorithms. He received his Ph.D. 1997 from the University of Melbourne. From 2005 to 2008, he was a senior research engineer in the Department of Computer Science at Caltech. Prior to that, he was a senior research fellow at the University of Melbourne and a lecturer at RMIT, Australia. He was co-recipient of the best paper award at IGCC2012, IEEE INFOCOM 2011 and IEEE MASS 2007.
