Hyeonu Heo was born in Seoul, South Korea. He received the B.E. degree in aerospace engineering and the M.E. degree in thermal and fluids engineering from Korea Aerospace University, Goyang, South Korea, in 2010 and 2012, respectively, and the Ph.D. degree in mechanical and energy engineering from the University of North Texas (UNT), Denton, TX, USA, in 2016.
He is currently a Postdoctoral Researcher with the Department of Physics, UNT. His current research interests include mechanical metamaterials, which have negative Poisson’s ratio and negative thermal expansion, and acoustic metamaterials (e.g., phononic crystals having the non-reciprocal acoustic wave propagation).
