个人简介
Gabriele Trovato (Associate Member, IEEE) received the M.S. degree in computer engineering from the University of Pisa, Pisa, Italy, in 2008, and the Ph.D. degree in biorobotics from Waseda University, Tokyo, Japan, in 2014.
He is currently an Associate Professor with the Shibaura Institute of Technology, Tokyo. He is also a Visiting Researcher with Karlsruhe Institute of Technology, Karlsruhe, Germany, Carnegie Mellon University, Pittsburgh, PA, USA, the University of S ao Paulo, S ao Paulo, Brazil, the Pontifical Catholic University of Peru, San Miguel, Peru, and the Imperial College London, London, U.K., among others. He is a Principal Investigator of the EU–Japan Horizon 2020 Project e-ViTA. He has worked in the video game industry, being involved in the development of the worldwide notorious game series Sid Meier’s Civilization and having created popular innovative mods for the game. His latest creations, such as SanTO robots, are a combination of engineering, AI, art, and humanities, and raised interest among the worldwide press, including the Wall Street Journal and the BBC. His research interests include interdisciplinary and human–robot interaction, with emphasis on culture and religion-related aspects, artificial emotions in humanoids, robot esthetics, and procedural content generation.
Dr. Trovato has been on the organizing committee of Italy–Japan workshops since 2011 within the relations between the two countries. He is appointed the Ambassador of Leghorn in the world by the Municipality of Leghorn, Italy.
