I am a Research Scientist at Google Research NYC and I sometimes teach at NYU Courant Institute of Mathematical Sciences. My main research interests are structured data extraction and exploration, data mining and visualization, computational journalism, and scalable data analysis. I lead the Structured Data Research Group at Google Research. The Structured Data Group of Google Research in NYC is hiring! If you are a recent PhD graduate in Database Systems, Data Management and Mining, Machine Learning, Information Retrieval and Recommendation, please ping me. I was with Yahoo! Research NYC, from July 2007 to September 2010, working on data mining, information extraction and social recommendation. I graduated from the Database Group at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, with a Ph.D. degree in Computer Science and Engineering under Prof. H. V. Jagadish. I am a devoted Michigan Wolverines fan. I have followed all the games since the Michigan-OSU game in the 2003 season. Michigan coaches I have witnessed: Loyd Carr, Rich Rodriguez, Brady Hoke, Jim Harbaugh (Go Blue!!).
